It usually starts with one phone call that immediately disrupts routine family life.

The whole world is unequivocally turned on its head and nothing will give like it had previously. All at once the whole family is sucked into and intense storm of emotions. The family doesn’t always have the required information and sometimes the family’s mental and emotional state does not allow them to absorb and digest the situation. The family is immediately forced to become accustomed to the new reality imposed on them and must organize themselves physically, emotionally and sometimes even financially. The family’s resources are naturally directed towards helping protect and provide for the sick child.

This is where we, Chaiyanu, become involved. We have already been there, in this situation. Many times. Too many times unfortunately.

Although not part of the medical staff, we understand and identify, through our experience, what the family needs and endeavour to provide appropriate assistance throughout their journey.

The families are absorbed into a special, dynamic support system run by Chaiyanu. First and foremost, we try to provide tangible assistance and aid where necessary during this sensitive period of time. We strive to listen, empathise, and provide a helping hand XNUMX days a year, XNUMX hours a day, wherever the family is located, according to each family’s individual needs.

This support system includes dozens of projects tailored to a variety of needs and provides hope and strength for the families so they can concentrate on caring for and supporting their child. The families know that they are never alone, that Chaiyanu is always by their side with expertise, caring and sincere concern as well as dedicated volunteers who give everything for the children and their families.

First and foremost we try to provide tangible assistance and help with everything needed in such a sensitive period. We strive to give them a sympathetic hand, heart and ear, for 365 days and nights a year, anytime and anywhere, depending on the needs of each family

1999

Chaiyanu was established in 1999

to aid children diagnosed with cancer and their families. At Chaiyanu, we consider children with cancer as a whole – the child, the family and their environment. Chaiyanu is the Israeli branch of the international organisation ‘Chai Lifeline’. In its activities Chaiyanu encompasses all areas related to the child’s illness and organisation of the family during the time of hospitalization, at home and during recovery.

is to ease the suffering of the sick children and their families to, 
"Fighting Illness with Love"

‘Chaiyanu for Children with Cancer in Israel’ has been operating since 2000 with the ambition of creating a better future where all children will beat cancer and with the goal of continually improving the quality of life for the sick children and to make use of advancing health care for the recovering child. Each year in the state of Israel, XNUMX children join the circle of sick children.

In the State of Israel, about 400 children are diagnosed each year who join the circle of sick children. The mission of the association in this tedious and painful journey is to alleviate the pain of the children. 

One of the unique qualities of the Organisation is that it successfully manages to identify on an individual and more general level the needs of each family and builds projects that satisfy all aspects of the children and their family’s needs.

These programs are organised by volunteer family coordinators and girls performing their National Service duties in the oncology ward. Chaiyanu is a branch of Chai Lifeline which has XNUMX branches around the world to support children with cancer. Through their knowledge, personal experience and understanding of the disease, they are able to provide support for the sick child and their family in a various different ways.

Our Life Association was established by the Chai Lifeline Association, which operates in 12 branches around the world for children with cancer and out of their understanding and personal acquaintance with coping with the disease, works for the sick child and his family in various and varied ways.
